Welcome to Reflexology 5

Susan Allain

The Time is Now

I am a certified Reflexology Therapist since 2001 and registered with the (RAC) Reflexology Association of Canada).   Over the years I have worked with clients suffering because of cancer, those in palliative care, pre and post surgery clients, children with special needs, individuals who are active in sports, as well as many people simply interested in maintaining a healthy life style and understand the benefits of Reflexology.

My experience, the reaction of my clients to Reflexology and the positive feedback I have received over the years, has solidified my beliefs, understanding and commitment to Reflexology.  It is with this strong conviction along with nearly three decades of working within the corporate sector, that I have made the decision to focus on helping others improve their lives by establishing Reflexology 5.

I have witnessed, first hand how today's environmental stresses have manifested themselves into a variety of health issues that face many people both young and old, and how the strong benefits of Reflexology has helped.

The time has come to become more proactive with our health. Let us not forget Mr. Benjamin Franklin, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Why Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive therapeutic massage. Based on the premise that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond with every gland, organ and system in the body.

Feet

There are thirty-three joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles and tendons in the foot that hold the structure together and allow it to move through a multitude of environments.  The 52 bones in your feet make up about one quarter of all the bones in your body. There are more nerve endings per square centimeter in the foot than in any other part of the body

Hands

There are 29 joints, 123 ligaments, 34 muscles, 48 nerves and 21 muscular branches in the hands.

Approximately 1/4 of all brain motor function is devoted to the movement of the hands

Ears

Each of our ears contains a complete reflex map of our bodies, full of nerve endings and multiple connections to our central nervous system.  Like foot and hand, ear reflexology is based on zones and points in the ear that relate to energy centers in the body known as meridians.

There are 6 major pressure points on the ear that help with an array of issues 1. Back and Shoulders 2. Organs 3. Joints 4. Sinuses and Throat 5. Digestion 6 Head and Heart

Corporate Clients

Reflexology 5 strongly believes that the benefits from reflexology are an essential ingredient to the success of every company.

The effects of stress and minor ailments can snowball if left  untreated. This can adversely affect an individual’s performance at  work, and impact their home life as they become increasingly tired and  lack motivation.

Did you know that prolonged stress also depletes the immune system,  leaving staff prone to further sickness?

Should this occur, the cost to a  company and to the individual is considerable.
